Location – Halifax, West Yorkshire
What you will be doing:
Galliford Try are looking for a Public Liaison Officer to support the project team in Halifax on our new local authority highways scheme.
The role will focus on proactive third-party liaison, working closely with the client, coordinating clear and timely communications, promoting Galliford Try and the project, managing enquiries and complaints, and delivering MHA framework engagement requirements to maintain strong community and stakeholder relationships.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and actively participate in stakeholder forums
* Serve as the main point of contact on site for the public and all interested parties
* Communicate proactively about any potential disruptions, such as traffic management, to keep residents informed
* Produce weekly reports summarising all public and stakeholder communications.
* Manage and update project information boards, social media channels, websites, and information centres
* Draft clear, informative letters for Project Manager approval to keep local residents up to date on upcoming works
* Handle public and stakeholder enquiries and complaints, maintaining a detailed compliments and complaints register
* Liaise with Councillors and local councils to coordinate key project dates and ensure smooth communication
About you:
* Experience in public, community, or stakeholder engagement
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, confident handling enquiries and complaints
* Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
* Approachable, positive, and skilled at building relationships with a wide range of people
* Organised, proactive, with a full UK driving license
