Finance Director

Halifax £80,000 to £100,000 + 20% bonus Permanent

Robert Half Finance & Accounting are recruiting for a Finance Director on behalf of a growing, high-performing professional services business based in Yorkshire. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for financial strategy, operational finance, internal controls and driving commercial performance across a diverse portfolio.

The organisation is scaling quickly and requires an experienced, strategic Finance Director who can operate as a true business partner to the Group CFO, UK CEO and the wider SLT.

The Role

As Finance Director, you will lead the full financial agenda for the UK business, including:

  • Developing and executing the financial strategy
  • Leading budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning
  • Overseeing internal controls and financial governance
  • Driving financial performance analysis and insight for the Board
  • Leading both Finance and Procurement teams
  • Supporting commercial pricing strategy
  • Cash management, including client monies held in escrow
  • Ensuring robust compliance, accounting policies and risk management
  • Working cross-functionally with commercial, sales and operations to support growth
  • Leading, developing and mentoring a high-performing finance team

This is a broad, hands-on and strategically important leadership role within a business undergoing positive change and investment.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified
  • Experienced at senior finance leadership level within a commercially focused environment
  • Strong across budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and reporting
  • Commercially minded, with experience supporting pricing and supplier negotiations
  • A proven leader who has developed and grown high-performing finance teams
  • A confident communicator, able to influence at Board level
  • Highly proficient in financial systems and advanced Excel
  • Lives within a commutable distance of Halifax
