SEN Teaching Assistant

Academics is looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant that has a good knowledge and experience using Makaton as a form of communication and a strong commitment to supporting children with additional needs in schools across Halifax.

The Role of an SEN Teaching Assistant :
Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups Using Makaton consistently to support communication, understanding and inclusion Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities Supporting pupils' emotional, social and behavioural development Creating a safe, positive and nurturing learning environment The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant should have :
