RTT Pathway Coordinator/Secretary

Cross‑site working based at both HRI & CRH. The post involves monitoring and validating Rapid Access to Treatment (RTT) pathways, ensuring patients are seen within the required time frames, maintaining communication and waiting lists, and supporting clinical and administrative duties.
Main Duties- Track patients and manage their clinical pathways to ensure timely appointments, investigations, MDT discussions and treatments.
- Apply local and national RTT policy to schedule patients accurately and prioritise based on RTT status.
- Validate RTT pathways and discharge patients where appropriate.
- Monitor the ASI and holding lists to treat patients in line with RTT policy and give priority to those breaching request dates.
- Act as focal point linking patients, relatives, GP’s, wards and the public, passing on accurate confidential communication.
- Review clinic utilisation and keep clinics fully utilised.
- Ensure electronic patient records are accurate and updated.
- Transcribe dictation into typed reports and correspondence for consultants.
- Prioritise workloads, work under pressure, maintain accuracy and meet deadlines.
- Manage inter‑patient transfer (IPT) and outpatient clinics, liaise with the Appointments Centre.
- Organise clinical and non‑clinical meetings and cancel/reduce clinics as requested.
- Maintain equipment and provide cover for colleagues.
- Ad‑hoc duties as required.

Person Specification Essential- GCSE English and Maths (grade 9‑3 A*-D)
- Accurate RSA 2 or equivalent keyboard skills
- Commitment to organisational and individual development, undertake mandatory training
- Degree or Management qualification
- ECDL/NVQ2 in Business Admin/Customer Service or equivalent
- Experience in an office environment and using Word, Excel, Outlook
- Ability to organise and prioritise own workload, meet deadlines and targets
- Good and accurate data input and audio/touch typing skills
- Awareness of confidentiality, medical terminology and conflict resolution
- Communication skills, face‑to‑face and telephone
- Supervising staff, managing attendance/performance
- Experience in NHS environment, budgets, finance, complaint handling, recruitment & selection
- Understanding of NHS guidelines and Trust policies
- Experience of ESR & EPR systems, meeting minuting
- Knowledge of IT software – email, internet, databases, presentations, Think Pads
- Advanced keyboard skills; professional, positive can‑do attitude
- Diplomacy and integrity at all times
- Involved with projects and improvement areas, analysing and producing reports
- Knowledge of EPR
