Manager, Line Maintenance YHZ

Job Summary  This position is responsible for establishing and managing adequate team member levels at the Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ) Line Maintenance Base as well as oversight over line maintenance stations in St Johns (YYT), Montreal Trudeau (YUL) and the MET (YHU). This involves organizing crews from three Transport Canada recognised scopes, M, E and S Aircraft Maintenance Engineers to ensure the correct skill set is available for planned and unplanned work on company aircraft.
Porter is offering Relocation Assistance up to a maximum of $10,000 for successful candidates located outside of YHZ.

Duties & Responsibilities   Work with other Porter leaders, external vendors and contracted companies to manage the operation at our maintenance facilities in YHZ, YUL, YHU and YYT.
Ensure that recognised standards of work are carried out by all personnel under their supervision.
Coordinate and supervise the inspection and rectification of aircraft and components including repair, modification, overhaul and alteration.
Ensure maintenance records are correctly completed with respect to overall maintenance functions.
Ensure that all planned and unplanned work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with Transport Canada regulations.
Responsible for technical liaison with all operational departments.
Ensure that maintenance team members under their authority have the necessary equipment, facilities and training required to properly accomplish their duties.
Maintain an adequate workforce planning schedule.
Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications   Post‑secondary education
Minimum 5 years’ experience in managing aircraft maintenance engineers and technicians
Transport Canada issued AME M2, E or S licence
DHC‑8‑Q400 and/or Embraer E1 or E2 endorsements considered an asset
Valid Canadian passport with ability to travel abroad (20% travel required)
Well organised, good time management, detail oriented and ability to work autonomously
Ability to obtain airside security clearance
Valid driver’s licence
Knowledge of AMOS is an asset
