    Under the direction of the Maintenance and Operations Manager, the Lead Electrician will:

  • Establishes and performs preventative maintenance, and performs trouble-shooting and repair to electrical, lighting, security systems and fire alarm systems.
  • Works closely with any outside agency that is required to perform work on the above noted systems. Uses any such collaboration to enhance knowledge and trouble-shooting expertise.
  • Assists other maintenance staff in PM, trouble-shooting, and repair of electrical, security alarm and fire alarm systems and associated equipment.
  • Establishes a good working knowledge of all electrical, security and fire alarm schematics, drawings, and control logics within the complex.
  • Attends training sessions to keep up with technological changes in electrical and fire alarm systems.
  • Acts as the lead electrician tradesperson and oversees security and emergency maintenance work necessary to maintain the electrical, security and fire alarm systems. Directs and coordinates the work of a group of electricians.
  • Works to keep all electrical, security and fire alarm systems panels, rooms, vaults and equipment rooms in a neat, clean and organized manner.

    Experience and Education Requirements

    To be the successful Lead Electrician you will have:

  • Certified Electrical Tradesperson with two (2) years related experience in construction or maintenance.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to perform all duties in a safe manner, following health and safety legislation and all required safe work practices and procedures, in order to minimize the risk of injury and property damage.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a positive manner conveying and responding to information.
  • Ability to interact with customers in a positive working relationship.
  • Ability to work alone and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to take initiative in completing tasks with minimal instruction.
