The Opportunity

We’re looking for two Business Development Managers to join our growing Commercial Insurance team - one based in St. John’s, NL and one in Nova Scotia.

Reporting to the Commercial Sales Manager, you’ll be responsible for driving new business growth, nurturing client relationships, and delivering strategic insurance solutions that protect and empower our commercial clients. This is a key role for someone who thrives on building meaningful partnerships and wants to help shape the future of a rapidly expanding organization.

What You’ll Do Sales Strategy & Execution
  • Establish sales targets, manage opportunities, and track progress using CRM tools and metrics.
  • Build and manage a high-quality prospect pipeline through referrals, networking, and community involvement.
  • Deliver consultative sales presentations and proposals that clearly articulate client value.
Client Growth & Relationship Management
  • Lead retention and expansion of a designated commercial client portfolio through proactive relationship building.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell coverage that adds value for clients.
  • Maintain regular contact with clients to ensure satisfaction and long-term partnership.
Market & Product Expertise
  • Stay informed on market conditions and industry best practices.
  • Participate in networking events and industry associations to strengthen Munn’s presence and brand.
  • Collaborate closely with Account Managers and internal teams to ensure seamless customer experiences.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for Munn Insurance, embodying our values of integrity, innovation, and community.
  • Contribute to a positive, high-performance culture that makes Munn a great place to work.
  • Perform other duties as required to support business growth and client success.
About You – Our Ideal Candidate

You’re a driven, relationship-focused professional who’s passionate about helping businesses protect what matters. You bring energy, strategic thinking, and a consultative approach to every interaction.

Qualifications
  • 3–7 years of experience in commercial insurance sales, account management, or a related B2B business development role.
  • Proven record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build long-term relationships with clients and partners.
  • Familiarity with insurance products or a willingness to learn quickly.
  • Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit and team-first mindset.
