Total nursing care and functions in accordance with the resident-directed approach to care, through the established philosophy of service.Assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, documenting and directing resident needs through consultation with medical professionals, care conferences and internal staffCompetence in numerous care areas including, but not limited to:
Palliative Care Management Medication Administration Venipuncture Butterfly Insertion Set Catheter/Subprapubic Catheter Insertion Head to Toe AssessmentProviding leadership to health services staff and overseeing provision of quality health services respecting the client’s right to individualized planning of health servicesWorking with the existing management and health services teams to promote communication and compliance to policies and proceduresMaintains knowledge of current legislation and program requirements that govern long-term careMaintain knowledge of issues and priorities within health care with a focus on continuing careFollows the process in place for safekeeping of medicationsAdministers and records prescribed medications in accordance with facility policyProvides consultation regarding resident issues and standards of care to interdisciplinary teamAssists residents with hygiene and daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, oral care, skin care, meals, positioning in bed, and transferring to and from bed to chairAssists with resident’s special needs, e.g. eye care, colostomy, and catheterApplies dressings and treatments according to physician’s orders and facility policyAssists with the development, implementation and evaluation of care plansAdministers and records prescribed medication as per company policy and scope of practiceMaintains the standards of accurate and complete documentation and reportingRequired to act as a work area leader or mentor in providing training, advice to peers doing similar work or filling in for vacation of people leader.Assists with supervision and evaluation of job performance and behavior of other health care staffAdditional duties as assignedAbout You
