Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Operations, the Production Planner is responsible to work closely with internal and external customers, perform advanced MRP activities to meet customer requirements and ensure product delivery.
As a Production Planner, your main responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
Interface “start to completion” in planning the transition from receipt of customer order to production to shipmentResponsible for developing and implementing MRP to ensure on time delivery to customersRaise, release and maintain work orders based on the Master Production SchedulePlan and monitor work orders on the production floorConsolidate demand for purchase requisitionsCreate purchase requisitions based on the Master Production ScheduleRe-plan activities as a result of schedule/material changesMaintain the integrity of data in the MRP systemMaintain manufacturing build plans on a daily basisTrack material from requisition to receipt of goods, highlight critical parts/issues, prepare material status reportsCoordinate configuration changes with purchasing and productionSupport turnaround of Non-Compliance Reports in a timely mannerOther duties and projects may be assignedWhat you require to be successful in the role:
Completed Business Administration or Supply Chain and Operations Management program at a recognized post-secondary institution.Planning experience of 5+ years in a manufacturing environmentThorough knowledge of MRP is essentialActive involvement in or completion of APICS certification would be considered an assetUnderstand and apply knowledge of product structures, configuration control, contracts terminology and ISO proceduresHighly effective organization and planning skillsUnderstanding of business processes and functional inter-relationshipsAbility to manage multiple assignments and deadlinesAdvanced problem solving skills and analytical skills.Effective communication and interpersonal skills (written & verbal)Self-motivated (works independently)Works effectively with teams and facilitates interactionMaintains positive working relationships with other team membersExcellent time management skills and able to prioritize and meet work schedulesBenefits of working with DRS
