The Emera Oval Bike Repair Technician will assemble, maintain and repair bicycles. They will be responsible for diagnosing faults, assessing the extent of the damage, making necessary repairs or replacements, and ensuring overall customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and technical skills, passion for cycling and experience in bike repair and maintenance. They should also be comfortable working with various types of bicycles and related components.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inspect and assess the condition of bicycles and bicycle parts.Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and lubricating partsDismantle, repair, and reassemble bicycles and bicycle parts.Adjust brakes, align wheels, and tighten bolts and screws.Test and adjust bicycle components for proper functioning.Install new bicycle parts and accessories.Maintain a clean and organized workspace.Stay updated on new products and trends in the cycling industry.Provide excellent customer service.QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
Experience as a Bike Mechanic.Knowledge of different types of bicycles and bicycle parts.Strong mechanical and technical skills.Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and fix them efficiently.Excellent problem-solving abilities.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.High School diploma or equivalentCertification from recognized bicycle mechanic school is considered an asset.Technical knowledge and skill for bicycle repair and maintenance to assist clients with a variety of bicycle types and needs.Attention to detail to diagnose and fix issues accurately and thoroughly.Problem-solving skills to efficiently identify and resolve any issues that arise during the repair and maintenance process.Communication skills to listen and understand requests, as well as discuss various repair option and decisions before, during, and after services.Customer service skills.Time management skills to complete repair services in an efficient and timely manner.Knowledge of safety standards and regulations for bicycles to ensure the serviced bikes are safe for use.Technical / Job Specific Knowledge and Abilities:Inspecting, diagnosing & repairing bicycles.Assembling new bicycles.Examining bicycles and identifying parts that need to be repaired, replaced, or modified.Installing, repairing, and replacing various bicycle equipment.Adjusting bicycle components.Cleaning, greasing, tuning, adjusting, and assembling bicyclesMaintaining a fleet of bicycles.Managing the inventory and organization of equipment, supplies & work tools.Security Clearance Requirements: Applicants may be required to complete an employment security screening check.
Please note – Testing may be conducted as a component of the selection process to assess technical and job specific knowledge. Candidates, who are selected for testing, may be tested in a group setting, scheduled at the employer’s discretion.

HOURS OF WORK: 1-3 shifts per week.
SALARY: Non Union; $21.75 per/hour (plus 4% vacation)
