What is the Opportunity?We are looking for a highly motivated Application Support Analyst to coordinate production support activities for all major systems and related subsystems to ensure the integrity of computer-generated this role, you'll be apart of the Global Functions Technology (GFT) team. Global Functions Technology is part of RBC’s Technology and Operations division. GFT’s impact is far-reaching as we collaborate with partners from across the company to deliver innovative and transformative IT solutions.Our clients represent Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking and Wealth Management. We also lead the development of digital tools and platforms to enhance collaboration.
What will you do?
Investigates, resolves, and reports on medium- to highly-complex technical issues requiring business application understanding.
Monitor and investigate JCL Batch job executions, troubleshoot failures, and ensure timely resolutions to maintain smooth operations
Proactively identifies and acts on emerging issues (and works with Development teams) to resolve them in the short and long term. Many of these issues require rapid response and the ability to synthesize multiple technical factors quickly in order to arrive at a workaround or solution within hours
Makes recommendations on process improvements and enhances system and support documentation for lower levels of support
Ensuring the documentation and tracking of all shift turnover issues
Contributing to job scheduling and report distribution, as well as data center standards development and enforcement.
Monitoring the library to insure that the proper generation of data files are available for production runs and tracks resolution
Work in a 24x7 support model
Must have:
Minimum 3 years of experience as an Applications Analyst, or equivalent experience in IT Operations and Monitoring practices
Experience with both real-time and batch transaction process monitoring and issue response
Proficient in SQL with expertise in developing, optimizing, and indexing complex queries to enhance performance and efficiency
Operating systems: experience with multiple operating systems and the integration of processing across different platforms will make you more effective in this role. Unix experience preferred.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to express technical issues in business terms
Displays a sense of ownership and exhibits flexibility, resilience, and resourcefulness
Experience with the incident and problem management lifecycles
Working experience with Service Now or comparable IT Service Management tools

Previous AML experience, or AML knowledge
Passion for automation
Experience with monitoring and logging technologies such as Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, ELK, Splunk, etc
