Reporting to:
Lead Cyber Security Engineer
- Managing alerts within the group’s security tooling (SIEM, EDR, DLP, PAM, SWG & WAF) and reviewing logs and reports from these tools and escalating anomalies.
- Analysing logs and events from various sources (servers, endpoints and cloud platforms).
- Triage alerts and determine potential impact or severity of security incidents.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents (malware infections, phishing and unauthorized access).
- Follow up incident response procedures and elevate critical issues when necessary.
- Work with the Cyber Security Engineers to help implement and tune security controls and configurations of the security tools within the group.
- Managing ticket queue within the team’s service desk queue.
- Assist with the completion of post incident reports.
- Assist with IT security gap and risk assessments including PCI DSS, ISO 27001, CIS Top 18 and Cyber Essentials.
- Identification and risk assessment of newly identified vulnerabilities.
- Recommend rule set and process changes or improvements.
- Flexibility to work on an evening shift where required.
- Timely escalation of issues to Cyber Security Engineers and/or Lead Engineer.
- Highly focused customer service approach with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Experience with the Microsoft on-premise and cloud platforms.
- Ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical people.
- Management of third‑party relationships.
- Experience of Compliance (27001, GDPR, CIS Top 18).
- Experience of working with or within:
- Software development teams to deliver internally and externally facing applications.
- Data teams to ensure highly available and resilient data to support operations.
- Technical project teams to deliver complex and large‑scale infrastructure projects.
- IT service desk to deliver swift resolution and fantastic customer service.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities to tight deadlines.
- Strong stakeholder management with a focus on excellent customer service.
- Strong attention to detail, with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proactive and self‑motivated approach to problem solving.
- Flexible and approachable.
- You are self‑motivated, result driven and business oriented.
- One or more relevant IT security qualifications from a recognised body, such as Comptia Security+, CySA+, Microsoft SC‑200.
- Project Management experience desirable.
- Experience of working within regulated businesses.
