Responsibilities
- Assisting HSE Professionals with inspections and incidental investigations.
- Managing documents (ie. data entry, SMC entries, taking minutes, filing etc.).
- Assisting with the orientation of new employees.
- Developing training materials.
- Reviewing paperwork (ie. PSI, tailgate meetings, safework procedure, trend analysis).
- Monitoring and maintaining the environmental program.
- Recognizing and following PCL and local legislative requirements.
- Analyzing site-specific trends and incidents and reporting findings to the district.
- Gathering/reviewing/distributing safety-related statistical information.
- Interpreting, communicating, and reinforcing project safety standards to our workforce.
Qualifications
- Ability to implement HSE program elements and safe operating procedures.
- Knowledge of environmental requirements and the ability to implement systems which meet compliance.
- Ability to plan and employ preventative measures to reduce the risks of exposure to hazards.
- The ability to determine the cause of an incident, and to initiate and implement corrective action to prevent the likelihood of reoccurrence.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong willingness to learn.
