Job Description

What is the opportunity? The candidate will lead a team of professionals in the administration of Global Withholding Tax Reclaims. Understand the classification of clients, collection of core tax documentation and production and filing of global tax relief forms to ensure the timely, accurate and efficient relief of withholding taxes on global assets. Acting as a senior operational face to our clients, the market regulators and local Tax Authorities with regards to Regulatory Tax Compliance and Governance.

This role requires a high degree of independence and a high focus on providing services and ensuring our clients receive an exceptional client experience is expected. This opportunity is located in Halifax.
What will you do?
  • Build a diverse and cross functional team of employees.
  • Help employees build a development plan and be successful in the current role, while supporting growth towards future roles.
  • Manage the escalation of and resolution of any client or sub-custodian issues affecting the efficiency of tax relief mechanisms and the RBC tax offering
  • Be proactive and encourage the harmonization of the tax advisory, tax reporting, tax documentation, tax processing areas into a single efficient unit
  • Create and promote a working environment in accordance with RBC values
  • Be proactive in the education of Tax Operations to all internal and external parties
  • Become a Subject Matter Expert in Tax with a full and detailed understanding of complex and unique processing
  • Act as a credible representative of Tax Operations with an ability to deliver status updates at multiple levels
