Responsibilities
Assist on a variety of corporate recovery and restructuring engagements, including bankruptcies, proposals, receiverships, CCAAs, liquidations, refinancing, and advisory mandatesObtain, organize, and analyze financial and operational information, including accounting records, creditor data, and supporting documentationAssist in the preparation of cash flow models, financial projections, project schedules, and stakeholder reportingSupport the review of creditor claims, government registry searches, and statutory filingsRespond to stakeholder inquiries in a professional and timely mannerAssist with sale and investment solicitation processes related to the liquidation or refinancing of distressed companiesSupport the distribution of sale proceeds and related accounting and reportingLiaise with the Canada Revenue Agency and assist with compliance matters for insolvent entities, including indirect tax, payroll, and related filingsAssist with the preparation and submission of Wage Earner Protection Program (WEPP) applicationsMaintain and administer data rooms and secure document repositoriesSupport monthly client billings and engagement administration, including payment of third-party service provider invoicesAssist with securing, preserving, and realizing client assets, including site visits and coordination of third‑party service providers; travel within the Atlantic region may be requiredSupport relationship‑building efforts with lenders, insolvency counsel, and other restructuring professionalsParticipate in business development initiatives and internal process improvement effortsWork collaboratively with engagement teams and maintain flexibility to meet urgent client and court‑driven deadlinesDevelop a working knowledge of insolvency legislation, court processes, and professional standardsSkills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related fieldCPA designation is preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be consideredExperience in public accounting, financial analysis, corporate finance, consulting, banking, or other professional services environments is considered an assetExposure to insolvency, restructuring, lending, or regulated environments is an asset, but not requiredDemonstrated experience analyzing financial information, preparing reports or models, and working with detailed data setsExperience working in client‑service, advisory, or stakeholder‑facing rolesStrong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environmentAdvanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint, and OutlookExcellent written and verbal communication skillsOpen to periodic travel within and outside the provinceA valid driver’s license is requiredAccess to a vehicle is required
