Responsibilities

  • Assist on a variety of corporate recovery and restructuring engagements, including bankruptcies, proposals, receiverships, CCAAs, liquidations, refinancing, and advisory mandates
  • Obtain, organize, and analyze financial and operational information, including accounting records, creditor data, and supporting documentation
  • Assist in the preparation of cash flow models, financial projections, project schedules, and stakeholder reporting
  • Support the review of creditor claims, government registry searches, and statutory filings
  • Respond to stakeholder inquiries in a professional and timely manner
  • Assist with sale and investment solicitation processes related to the liquidation or refinancing of distressed companies
  • Support the distribution of sale proceeds and related accounting and reporting
  • Liaise with the Canada Revenue Agency and assist with compliance matters for insolvent entities, including indirect tax, payroll, and related filings
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of Wage Earner Protection Program (WEPP) applications
  • Maintain and administer data rooms and secure document repositories
  • Support monthly client billings and engagement administration, including payment of third-party service provider invoices
  • Assist with securing, preserving, and realizing client assets, including site visits and coordination of third‑party service providers; travel within the Atlantic region may be required
  • Support relationship‑building efforts with lenders, insolvency counsel, and other restructuring professionals
  • Participate in business development initiatives and internal process improvement efforts
  • Work collaboratively with engagement teams and maintain flexibility to meet urgent client and court‑driven deadlines
  • Develop a working knowledge of insolvency legislation, court processes, and professional standards
  • Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field
  • CPA designation is preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered
  • Experience in public accounting, financial analysis, corporate finance, consulting, banking, or other professional services environments is considered an asset
  • Exposure to insolvency, restructuring, lending, or regulated environments is an asset, but not required
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing financial information, preparing reports or models, and working with detailed data sets
  • Experience working in client‑service, advisory, or stakeholder‑facing roles
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Open to periodic travel within and outside the province
  • A valid driver’s license is required
  • Access to a vehicle is required
