Purpose of Role: As a Naval Architecture Technologist, you will contribute to engineering and technical projects focused on testing, evaluation, and maintenance activities. Working under general supervision, you will help ensure the operational readiness of Canada’s naval assets, gain hands-on experience, and prepare detailed reports that inform critical decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct testing and trials onboard ships or submarines
Perform technical investigations and review documentation on various systems, equipment, or components installed or to be installed onboard RCN ships or submarines
Validate, test, simulate, integrate, or troubleshoot new equipment, systems, or components
Prepare plans, designs, calculations, cost estimates, and bills of materials following established standards
Support team members in executing work tasks
Maintain attention to detail and strong organizational skills to meet project deadlines
Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders
Produce technical reports for review
Comply with the Integrated Management System (IMS) requirements
Demonstrate commitment to safety and zero harm behaviors
Qualifications:
Completed a Naval Architectural Diploma program (3 years) with practical experience
Analytical skills to interpret complex information and research additional sources
Project management skills for planning and tracking tasks (if managing own projects)
Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and drawings
Excellent technical report writing skills
Canadian citizenship and at least 10 years residency in Canada, with no extended absences, to qualify for a Secret security clearance
