Ability to interpret and apply relevant industry standards (e.g., ASME, IEEE, ASTM)
Knowledge of naval or commercial ship design and construction methods
Experience in ship design, ship construction, or a comparable complex industrial/manufacturing environment (heavy lift engineering experience preferred)
Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Please note this position requires a full-time, in-office presence.
Responsibilities      Develop engineering deliverables  such as lifting and handling plans, jigs/fixtures/tooling designs, and temporary services plans for both ship repair and new construction programs - following internal guidelines and engineering best practices.
Perform calculations, analysis, and drafting , ensuring all work meets safety, quality, and regulatory expectations.
Conduct inspections  of temporary structures to confirm they are installed in accordance with approved plans.
Collaborate closely  with cross-functional teams, including Production, Planning, Facilities, Scheduling, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams across multiple disciplines.
Contribute to safe and efficient production , bringing practical and theoretical engineering knowledge into a shipbuilding environment.
