The part-time academics will be responsible for co-teaching the field and lab intensive BIOL class="caps">
BIOL “Flora of Nova Scotia”. The course will be offered during the Summer session, June 17 – July 4, 2026, Monday through Saturday, approx. .
Responsibilities include all aspects of teaching and administering the course, including lectures, field trips, test preparation, and evaluation of tests and reports. The part-time academics will also be responsible for preparing a budget in consultation with the program director and keeping field-related expenses within the approved budget. In addition, the part-time academics may be asked to drive students in vehicles rented by the university.
The part-time academic should expect to spend considerable time before and after the official course dates preparing and marking. Due to operational requirements, successful applicants will be required to work in-person on campus, or out on field trips if appropriate. This position reports to the Chair of the department.
Qualifications/Requirements of Position
A graduate degree in Biology or related field and research experience directly related to the topic of the course. Preference will be given to candidates possessing a and/or previous university teaching experience in the subject of the course.
