The Department of Mathematics and Computing Science offers BSc and BA degrees in mathematics, and graduate student training at both the Master's and Doctoral levels via the MSc and PhD in Applied Science programs. Information about the research activities of the current members of the department is available at Information and Responsibilities As Assistant Professor, the successful applicant will:

Have a strong desire to help create excellent student learning experiences through curriculum development and delivery of undergraduate teaching, primarily in pure mathematics.

Develop and maintain an innovative, externally funded research program in their field, with student involvement, particularly at the undergraduate level.

Contribute to the administrative service activities within the Department, the Faculty of Science, the University, and the mathematics community.

Experience and Education Requirements As Assistant Professor, the successful applicant will have:

A PhD in mathematics (or a closely related field) and will normally have postdoctoral experience.

A demonstrated commitment to excellence in university teaching.

A strong record of research and well-developed plan to establish an independent, externally funded research program.

A plan to contribute positively to service activities within the university.
