As part of our growth strategy, we are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to expand our presence and build key partnerships within the defence industry.

Position Overview

The Business Development Manager will spearhead efforts to identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within the defence sector. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of defence technology, government procurement processes, and industry regulations. You will be responsible for building relationships with defence contractors, government agencies, and strategic partners to drive growth and revenue.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including government contracts, partnerships, and projects related to defence technology products.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans for market entry and expansion within the defence sector.
  • Build and maintain relationships with defence contractors, military agencies, and industry stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, presentations, and technical briefs tailored to defence industry requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, R&D, and project teams to align product development with market needs and customer expectations.
  • Monitor industry trends, emerging threats, and technological advancements to identify new avenues for growth.
  • Engage with procurement and compliance teams to navigate complex tendering, bidding, and regulatory processes.
  • Maintain a robust pipeline of leads and opportunities, updating CRM systems and sales forecasts regularly.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings to strengthen market presence.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in business development or sales within the defence, aerospace, or high-tech security sectors.
  • Strong understanding of defence industry standards, regulations, and procurement procedures.
  • Demonstrated success in winning government contracts and establishing industry partnerships.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop strategic plans, analyze market data, and execute sales strategies effectively.
  • Degree in Business, Engineering, (or related field); supplementary certifications in defense industry methodologies are a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and travel as needed.

Salary Range

$100,000 - $120,000 + commission
