1 dedicated OR suite
Birth Volume~160/year (12–17/month)
Staffing RatioFollows AWHONN guidelines (2 RNs per shift)
Patient Population- Laboring & postpartum patients
- Couplets (mom & baby care first few hours)
- High-risk & critical OB patients
- Inductions
- Hypertensive crisis
- Hemorrhage protocol
- Stabilize & transfer (no twins/triplets)
- RN acts as newborn nurse during C-sections (no circulating)✅
- BLS
- ACLS
- NRP STABLE
- AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced
Minimum
- 2 years LDRP experience
- Strong L&D background required
- Must have recent LDRP or postpartum experience
- Newborn stabilization required
- Comfortable managing laboring patients independently
- Must work autonomously (especially nights/weekends)
- Experience titrating drips required
- Magnesium
- Pitocin
- Insulin (if transferring out)
- Charge RN:
Core nurse when possible - House Supervisor available
- OB not in-house (clinic M–F, on-call for labor)
- Shared Hospitalist
- Peds in-house M–F days; on‑call nights/weekends
- Anesthesia on‑call after hours (30 min response)
- No aides/techs currently (hiring in progress)
- 7a–7p or 7p–7a
- Self‑scheduling with core staff
- Weekends & holidays equitably distributed
- No call requirement
- Floating
- Helping hands / safety attendant tasks only
- No shifts in other departments
Surgical scrubs (facility scrubs required for deliveries)
