Warehouse Material Handler

Overview

Ryder is hiring for a Permanent Full Time Material Handler in Hagerstown, Maryland. Warehouse positions pay weekly.

• Perform warehouse functions which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting
• Work within performance measurement guidelines of the contract
• Ensure accurate picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products, and loading/unloading of trucks
• Handle day-to-day warehouse paperwork (e.g., picking sheets, returns, bills of lading)
• Provide technical and maintenance support for automated packing systems during production core shift hours
• Perform other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• One year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred
• Valid forklift operator’s license certified
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work in a diverse environment
• Professional relationship-building skills across all levels of the organization
• Highly thorough, dependable, punctual with good attendance
• Ability to lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs; ability to stand for long periods
• Ability to work with health and safety methods; flexible schedule across various shifts
• Detail oriented with strong follow-up practices
