PositionSecurity Officer - Community Patrol in Hagerstown, MD
. You will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Food/Beverage, and more. This is a Part-Time role; you can build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy food and beverage location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents.
You will respond to calls for assistance, document observations, and communicate clearly with site teams and visitors. Backed by Allied Universal, you will bring an agile, reliable, and innovative approach, delivering with teamwork, care, and integrity every shift.

Pay Rate
: $18.50 / Hour
Days and times vary by assignment. Example:
Saturday and Sunday, 08:00 AM – 04:00 PM.

- Provide customer service to clients, employees, drivers, and visitors by following Allied Universal security procedures, site policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a food and beverage production and/or distribution location.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of production areas, warehouses, docks, parking lots, and perimeter fencing; deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
- Control access through designated entry points by verifying identification, managing visitor and contractor check-in/check-out, issuing temporary badges as directed, and directing traffic for trucks and deliveries per site procedures.
- Respond to incidents calmly, including alarms, suspicious activity, medical calls, fire-related alerts, and facility disruptions; notify site leadership and emergency services as required.
- Monitor cameras, intrusion and/or fire panels, and other security systems; document patrols and incidents in daily activity reports; communicate observations to supervisors and oncoming personnel.
- A guard card/license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Background check as required by federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- Drug screen as permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state/local laws and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
