Retail Sales Associate

This position will provide friendly customer service in our gift shop and for phone and mail orders.

Job Location: Hagerstown

Reports to: Hagerstown Retail Sales Associate

• Pleasantly greet and assist customers in the retail store or on the phone.
• F ollows procedures for operation of cash register and credit card machine, and makes sure adequate change is inthe drawer.
• Oversee all gift merchandise in keeping items in the showroom, and ensure pricing on all merchandise and packages as directed.
• Assist with bagging and labeling bagged candy in the front showroom.
• Maintain an adequate supply of boxes, bags, tissue paper, etc.
• Maintain and rotate product by following the established restocking/rotation procedure. Restock merchandise, alerting the supervisor of any needs.
• Take merchandise orders as they are received in person, and assist as needed with phone answering and orders.
• Confer with supervisor/specified instructions for work assignment each day.
• Maintain a clean store by sweeping, cleaning, and dusting merchandise and display areas, and maintain music playing in the showroom.
• Assist the supervisor in preparing for tour groups.
• Open/Close store as assigned and/or assist with such procedures.
• Report maintenance needs.
• Request any needs to complete tasks to the supervisor in advance.
• Any other duties requested by the supervisor as needed.

• Friendly disposition and effective customer service skills.
• Able to lift and handle merchandise and cartons.
• Reading and math skills.
• Ability to run a cash register and previous sales experience are helpful.
