Overview
The Arc of Washington County is hiring a Full-Time Floater Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Adult Residential. This is a remote-friendly, on-site role located in Hagerstown, MD. We have a flexible schedule with day, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts. Pay starts at $19.00/hour, with potential for higher rates based on relevant experience.
Join a mission-driven team supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) since 1952. The DSP Floater will support one dedicated adult residential team and provide coverage where needed. Flexibility is essential, as this role works across all shifts.
Responsibilities- Support daily personal care (bathing, grooming, dressing)
- Help prepare meals and promote healthy eating
- Maintain clean and safe living spaces (light housekeeping)
- Administer medications (training provided)
- Engage residents in activities and outings
- Encourage independence and life-skill development
- Provide behavioral support using structured approaches and de-escalation techniques
- Be a consistent, positive presence in residents’ lives
- Must have at least 2 years of documented IDD experience, including significant behavioral management experience
- 18 years or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license held for at least 2 years (permit time excluded)
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, physical, and ergonomic assessments
- Attend 3 weeks + 2 days of paid New Hire Training (Mon–Fri, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM)

Earn $1,500–$2,000 per certification level in your first year. Multiple levels can be achieved — up to $5,250 in bonuses, plus annual incentives for maintaining certification.
