Clinical Manager 4 South – Med Surg/ Cardiac
Meritus is now seeking an inspiring and compassionate Clinical Nurse Manager to lead our 4S Cardiac Medical‑Surgical Unit, where clinical excellence, teamwork, and patient‑centered care come together to make a meaningful difference every day.
This leadership role provides 24‑hour accountability for the clinical, operational, and financial performance of the unit. The Clinical Nurse Manager plays a vital role in advancing Meritus Health’s commitment to safe, high‑quality, and equitable care, while creating an environment where patients feel cared for, families feel supported, and nurses feel valued and empowered. As a key contributor to the nursing strategic plan, the Clinical Manager partners with interdisciplinary teams to drive continuous improvement, uphold professional standards, and ensure exceptional outcomes for our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support the delivery of safe, evidence-based, and compassionate cardiac nursing care aligned with Meritus Health’s mission and values.
- Maintain 24‑hour clinical, operational, and financial accountability for the unit.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional excellence, supporting staff engagement and retention.
- Champion patient‑ and family‑centered care by promoting dignity, respect, and clear communication.
- Partner with nursing and interdisciplinary leaders to support strategic initiatives, quality improvement, and care transformation efforts.
- Monitor clinical outcomes and regulatory compliance, implementing improvements to enhance patient safety, quality, and satisfaction.
- Uphold the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses and the Maryland Nurse Practice Act, addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
- Serve as a visible and supportive leader who promotes a healing environment for patients, families, and staff.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Master’s degree in Nursing or related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive clinical nursing experience, in an acute care medical‑surgical setting
- Prior leadership, charge nurse, or supervisory experience preferred
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Maryland required (or multistate/compact license that is recognized in Maryland)
- Professional certification in Nursing Leadership or specialty preferred

- Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic health record systems
