Shift Times: 10:45 pm – 7:15 am
Position Type: Full Time – 32 Hours per week
Schedule: Monday – Friday with alternating weekends
Pay: $36.00 – $44.00 per hour and generous shift differentials
- Provide the highest degree of quality nursing care to the residents following Fahrney‑Keedy’s policies and procedures.
- Supervise day‑to‑day nursing activities in accordance with Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
- Monitor CMAs and GNAs assigned to the floor to ensure residents receive quality care.
As an LPN/RN, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibilities and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.
EMPLOYMENT AT WILLEmployment with Fahrney‑Keedy is “at will”. Either the associate or Fahrney‑Keedy may terminate the employment relationship for any reason at any time without notice.
CONFIDENTIALITYAssociates must treat all resident care information, including protected health information, as confidential and may not disclose it to any third party without prior written consent. Report any suspected violations to the supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Make rounds at the beginning and end of shift.
- Perform admission assessments on new and re‑admissions.
- Consult with a resident’s physician in providing care, treatment and rehabilitation.
- Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis.
- Report all complaints and grievances made by a resident immediately.
- Participate in and receive the nursing report upon reporting for duty.
- Follow established policies concerning exposure to blood/body fluids.
- Review each resident’s records for orders, medications, diets, etc.
- Review lab reports and notify physicians of results.
- Notify attending physicians of accidents, incidents or changes in the resident’s condition.
- Notify families or responsible parties of accidents, incidents or changes in the resident’s condition.
- Administer professional services (medication administration, catheterization, tube feeding, suctioning, dressing changes, colostomy care, etc.) and document accurately.
- Obtain specimens for lab tests as ordered.
- Monitor seriously ill residents as necessary.
- Assess resident skin for signs of breakdown and take immediate action.
- Institute preventative measures for skin breakdown and manage decubitus ulcers.
- Ensure that GNA’s and CMA’s are providing care in accordance with residents’ care plans.
- Meet with residents and/or family members as necessary.
- Inform family of resident death and coordinate post‑mortem care.
- Manage medication administration, including ordering, counting narcotics, and maintaining a neat medicine cart.
- Document all charting, medication and treatment administration electronically.
- Report late or absent shifts twelve hours in advance.
- Report work‑related injuries, occupational exposures, fraud and other concerns to the supervisor.
- Participate in employee performance evaluations of GNA’s and CMA’s.
- Maintain good working rapport with staff to ensure Nursing Services meet resident needs.
- Adhere to safety, infection control and emergency protocols.
- Works throughout the facility.
- Subject to frequent interruptions.
- Subject to hostile or emotionally upset residents, family, visitors.
- May work beyond normal hours, on weekends and holidays.
- Subject to call‑back during emergency conditions.
- Subject to handling hazardous chemicals.
- Subject to exposure to infectious waste and communicable diseases.
- Attends and participates in educational programs.
- Subject to injury from falls, equipment burns, odors, dust and disinfectants.
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information.
- Treat residents with kindness, dignity and respect.
- Provide nursing care in privacy.
- Knock and obtain permission before entering resident rooms.
- Report grievances and complaints to the Nursing Supervisor or Charge Nurse.
- Report suspected abuse or property misappropriation to the Abuse Coordinator.
- Honor resident refusal of treatment and report to Supervisor.
