Position

Tissue Culture Lab Technician

Our Tissue Culture Lab Tech is primarily responsible for the day-to-day plant tissue culture operations including initiation, multiplication, subculturing, and rooting in a sterile laboratory environment. The Tissue Culture Lab Tech will be responsible for maintaining our genetic library and ensuring healthy, consistent plant starts for our cultivation operation.

Responsibilities
  • Perform sterile explant preparation and culture initiation in accordance with established SOPs.
  • Execute plant tissue culture workflows, including multiplication cycles, routine subculturing, and rooting transfers.
  • Monitor cultures daily to identify contamination, abnormal growth, or deviations, and escalate concerns immediately.
  • Conduct all tissue culture manipulations under laminar flow hoods using strict aseptic technique.
  • Track plantlet development, ensure culture health, and support consistent production throughput.
  • Prepare culture media by accurately weighing, mixing, adjusting pH, and dispensing components following defined SOPs.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including initiation batches, multiplication cycles, transfer counts, and all associated dates.
  • Operate autoclaves, including loading, running, unloading, and completing required sterilization documentation.
  • Participate in routine cleaning schedules and contamination response activities, ensuring all tools, vessels, and work areas are cleaned, sterilized, and organized.
  • Uphold rigorous cleanliness, sanitation, PPE, and workflow‑separation standards to prevent cross‑contamination.
  • Maintain clear, timely production and inventory documentation to support traceability.
  • Immediately report SOP deviations, contamination events, quality concerns, or equipment issues to leadership.
  • All other duties as necessary.
Qualifications
  • For legal reasons, all employees need to be at least 21 years of age.
  • You will be asked to pass a Federal and State criminal history background check.
  • We ask that you have at least a high school diploma/GED.
  • Willingness to work in a clean, controlled laboratory environment, lab and tissue culture, or science experience.
  • Experience in SOP-driven environments such as manufacturing, food production, nursery work, or quality assurance.
  • Strong ability to maintain focus while performing repetitive, precision-based tasks with consistency for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work methodically with excellent fine motor control.

  • Ability to work at a fast pace in a high production environment!
  • We ask that you do not have allergies to plant materials or nitrile gloves; this position requires daily exposure to cannabis plants and nitrile gloves.
Work Schedule/Location
  • On-site 5 days a week.
