Field Service Technician

Fives Landis Corp is actively seeking Field Service Technicians to join its team in Hagerstown, Maryland. The division has approximately 1,800 employees worldwide across about 20 locations in Asia, Europe, and North America. We are seeking Field Service Technicians who share this drive to prove that industry can do it.

Pay Range: $28 – $38 per hour (rate offered commensurate with experience).

• Set up, integrate, and thoroughly test equipment and systems at client locations to ensure optimal functionality and reliability.
• Demonstrate equipment performance and capabilities to customers, confirming proper operation and satisfaction with system standards.
• Provide rapid support for critical equipment failures to minimize downtime.
• Perform emergency repairs by diagnosing technical issues and implementing effective and timely solutions.
• Educate and assist clients on proper equipment operation, maximizing efficiency and user confidence.
• Communicate clearly and proactively with customers and internal teams to provide timely service updates and maintain alignment.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison, managing customer interactions and ensuring prompt and accurate resolution of issues.
• Submit detailed service reports, including parts used, time spent, and corrective actions taken.

Under the direction of the Service & Installation Manager, you will join the Service team.

Minimum requirements:

High School diploma or GED. At least 2 years of field service experience with knowledge of precision cylindrical grinding. Centerless and double disc grinding knowledge is a plus. Understanding of CNC machines with servo drives and motors. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) such as Allen-Bradley, Fanuc, Siemens, etc. Must be a self-starter, flexible, and eager to travel up to 75% to engage with customers.
