Interim Nursing Home Administrator
Full Time Salaried Position, Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.,
Must be a Licensed Administrator in the State of Maryland
Under the direction of the CEO, the Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) is responsible for day‑to‑day functions of the facility in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations to assure that the highest degree of quality care is provided to our residents.
DELEGATION OF AUTHORITYAs the NHA you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the facility’s programs and activities in accordance with board guidelines.
- Develop and maintain written policies, procedures, and professional standards of practice governing the operations of the facility.
- Assume the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability of directing the activities and programs of the facility.
- Establish rapport in and among departments to realize the importance of teamwork.
- Represent the facility at top‑level meetings, state/federal surveys, and in dealings with outside agencies.
- Conduct routine inspections of the facility in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Assist in the development and implementation of committees (Infection Control, Quality Assurance & Assessment, etc.) and provide written/oral reports to the governing board.
- Assist in recruitment, selection, and counseling of staff to improve services and ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Manage and control protected health information by establishing policies, training, and monitoring.
- Develop risk management program in collaboration with insurance carrier, legal counsel, and other personnel.
- Maintain a public relations program and conduct community awareness programs to inform the community of the facility’s programs.
- Ensure all employees follow established safety regulations and maintain facility and grounds in good repair.
- Report financial statements and compliance information to the governing board and authorized government agencies.
- Respond to resident complaints, conduct investigations, and provide written reports of actions taken.
- Provide supervision, mentorship, and training to staff, including employee development and safety training.
- Safeguard the physical, operational, and financial integrity of the facility in accordance with laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to nursing facility administration.
- Serve on various facility committees and provide written or oral reports of committee meetings to the governing board.
- Assist the Quality Assurance and Assessment Committee in developing and implementing plans of action to correct identified quality deficiencies.
- Evaluate and implement recommendations from the facility’s committees as necessary.
- Assist in recruitment and selection of competent department directors, supervisors, and staff.
- Consult with department directors to eliminate/correct problem areas and improve services.
