Job SummaryAller Vie is seeking a Medical Assistant to join its dynamic allergy and immunology clinic team. In this essential role, the Medical Assistant supports clinical care teams by gathering detailed patient medical histories, reconciling medications, and accurately updating electronic medical records. This position requires familiarity with general allergy and immunology practices, procedures, and medications. The Medical Assistant will assist with allergy testing, support in diagnostic and treatment procedures, and play a key role in administering immunotherapy.

Location: 1150 Omega Drive Suite 100 Hagerstown, MD, 21740
Pay Range: Starting pay is $21 an hour, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities- Demonstrates appropriate technique for obtaining vital signs to include height/weight, BP, pulse, respiration rate, temperature, and O2 saturation
- Obtain spirometry and Niox testing on patients with proper technique and coaching
- Maintain competency and knowledge of general allergy practice, procedures, and medications; understand testing, diagnosis, treatment, and immunotherapy processes
- Keep exam rooms well stocked and clean
- Communicate effectively and promptly with the Department Lead and/or management for clinical, supply, HR, facilities, or billing matters
- Maintain professionalism in patient/parent interactions, adhere to HIPAA, and provide anticipatory guidance on visit flow during triage
- Document activities accurately in the EMR
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
- This position may be required to travel to other clinics for staffing needs
- Previous experience working with patients in a medical setting
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program;
Medical Assistant certification preferred - Understanding of basic medical terminology
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of EMR systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Ability to sit for extended periods and communicate effectively, including speaking and hearing
- Regular use of hands and arms to write, type, and operate office equipment
- Occasional physical movement including reaching, bending, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and sensing odors
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and occasional overhead reaching
- Ability to lift and carry moderate weights (up to 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds regularly) while maintaining visual focus
