, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring specimens are received, prepared, and handled with accuracy, care, and attention to detail. Your work directly supports providers, patients, and the clinical teams who rely on timely, precise lab results.

What You’ll Do
In this essential role, you’ll support laboratory operations by:
Receiving, registering, and verifying patient specimens and test requests for accuracy
Reviewing patient demographics, billing information, and diagnoses, and resolving discrepancies
Serving as a key resource for specimen inquiries while providing excellent customer service
Preparing specimens through centrifugation, aliquoting, labeling, measuring, and packaging
Ensuring proper storage, handling, and shipment of specimens for in-house and reference testing
Accurately entering data, scanning documents, and maintaining electronic and paper records
Communicating critical values and managing failed fax notifications as needed
Following laboratory procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards at all times
Working independently while exercising sound judgment and attention to detail
Contributing to process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and quality
What We’re Looking For
- Prior laboratory or medical office experience
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Comfort working with data entry, documentation, and laboratory systems
Knowledge of or ability to learn laboratory safety practices and specimen handling procedures
A team-oriented mindset with a dedication to high-quality work
Work Environment & Expectations
Frequent concentration and sustained attention to detail
Regular handling of laboratory specimens and materials
Physical tasks may include standing, lifting up to 30 lbs, bending, and fine hand-eye coordination
Adherence to all safety protocols and infection prevention standards
