Our client is hiring a CFO into a role with broad responsibility and real influence over how the business grows and performs. You will own the financial engine of a construction company that is scaling quickly and needs a leader who can bring discipline, visibility, and control without slowing momentum.
Your decisions will influence pricing, project selection, risk posture, hiring, capital structure, and operational alignment. This is a role for a CFO who wants to shape outcomes, not just measure them.
What You’ll Own- Build the financial strategy that guides growth and investment
- Lead long‑range planning and capital allocation
- Serve as the CEO’s closest strategic partner on growth, risk, and execution
- Own job costing, WIP, backlog, revenue recognition, and margin performance
- Bring clarity and accountability to project financials across the portfolio
- Strengthen change order discipline, contract risk evaluation, and claims review
- Build and lead a high‑performing Accounting and Finance organization with strong controls, accurate reporting, and clear accountability
- Ensure the company’s financial systems, processes, and close cycles operate with the speed and precision required in a large, multi‑project construction environment
- Create a financial reporting structure that gives leadership real‑time visibility into performance, risk, and margin drivers
- Set the standards for job cost accuracy, payroll integrity, and financial compliance across the company
- Control cash flow forecasting, working capital, and collections alignment
- Manage banking relationships, bonding, credit facilities, and insurance programs
- Protect the company’s financial position while enabling smart growth
- Upgrade ERP and job cost systems and reporting
- Build automation, dashboards, KPIs, and scalable processes that support expansion
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA required. CPA preferred
- Deep financial leadership experience in construction with a contractor or subcontractor
- A track record of leading Finance inside a large, complex, multi‑project organization
- Expertise in job costing, WIP, GAAP, and construction accounting at scale
- Proven ability to build financial strategy, capital planning, and operational alignment
- Experience leading high‑performing teams across Accounting, Finance, and project financials
- Strong command of forecasting, modeling, ERP systems, and data‑driven decision making
- A leadership approach that raises standards and drives accountability across the business
