School Crossing Patrol – Hadleigh Junior School

Permanent, Term Time.

£13.00 per hour. 7.5 hours per week (45 minutes morning 08:00‑09:00, 45 minutes afternoon 14:45‑15:45) during 39 weeks of the academic year.

Responsibilities
  • Give regard for the needs of people with disabilities, especially mobility‑impaired people wishing to use the crossing point.
  • Maintain regular contact with the schools attended by children using the crossing.
  • Regularly assess the risks associated with operating at the crossing site in order to identify any problems and report problems and defects to supervisor.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports on accidents and failure to stop incidents and other incidents occurring at the crossing site.
  • Ensure that all uniform and equipment provided are maintained in good condition and replacements requested when needed.
  • Give clear signals to drivers when stopping traffic and ensure that the traffic remains at rest until the road at the crossing point is clear of pedestrians.
