About the role

This 1:1 Behaviour Mentor position is based in a friendly and inclusive primary school in Hackney and is available for an immediate start. The 1:1 Behaviour Mentor will work closely with one pupil who requires additional behaviour and emotional support throughout the school day. As a 1:1 Behaviour Mentor, you will help the pupil manage behaviour, stay engaged in lessons, and develop positive coping strategies.

The 1:1 Behaviour Mentor will work alongside class teachers and the SEN team to follow behaviour plans and maintain clear routines. This 1:1 Behaviour Mentor role suits someone calm, consistent, and confident in building strong relationships with children. The 1:1 Behaviour Mentor will play an important role in helping the pupil feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.

The school is an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ primary with a strong focus on inclusion and wellbeing. The 1:1 Behaviour Mentor will be joining a school with supportive leadership and clear behaviour systems in place. The nearest station is Hackney Central, with several bus routes serving the area. There is limited on-site parking, with some staff parking available on a first-come basis. As a 1:1 Behaviour Mentor, you will receive guidance from an experienced SEN team and ongoing support in your role.
