Job Description
This position supports the warehouse and facilities operations of JDC Power Systems under the direction of the Senior Operations Manager. The Warehouse and Facilities Technician is responsible for shipping and receiving, inventory accuracy, material handling, facility maintenance, safety compliance, and supporting field technicians through timely delivery and organization of equipment. This role ensures the cleanliness, safety, functionality, and operational readiness of both the warehouse and facility to support business operations.
Key Responsibilities Warehouse Operations- Perform daily shipping and receiving of all incoming and outgoing materials, ensuring accuracy and documentation.
- Conduct daily drop‑off and pickup of packages at local UPS/Fed Ex terminals utilizing company vehicles.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using barcoding systems and inventory management tools.
- Perform frequent spot checks and coordinate periodic physical inventory counts.
- Load and unload trucks; receive, stock, pick, and consolidate materials as required.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment aligned with JDC safety policies.
- Ensure the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of all facility areas including warehouse, common areas, restrooms, and storage rooms.
- Perform general facility maintenance and repairs, including basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical tasks; use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair building systems and equipment issues—including lighting, HVAC, plumbing, and fixtures—with a practical, hands‑on approach.
- Conduct daily facility inspections and proactively report maintenance needs.
- Safely operate mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and components.
- Follow schematics, maintenance manuals, and manufacturer specifications when troubleshooting or performing facility tasks.
- Deliver materials, tools, and equipment to field technicians as needed to support ongoing customer projects.
- Pick up inventory or parts from vendors and distributors when required.
- Interact professionally with technicians, project managers, and customers via phone, email, or in person.
- Support inventory forecasting and communicate shortages or supply risks to management.
- Assist in improving warehouse workflows, processes, and efficiencies.
- Conduct all operations in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Participate in safety meetings and report unsafe conditions immediately.
- Ensure safe operation of tools, equipment, and vehicles.
- Maintain proper labeling, storage, and handling of hazardous materials (if applicable).
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
- 2+ years of warehouse or facilities experience preferred.
- Proficient in the safe use of hand tools and power tools for assembly, repairs, material handling, and facility maintenance.
- Forklift certification preferred (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Experience with barcoding software, inventory systems, or UPS World Ship and Fed Ex preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Reliable, self‑motivated, and safety‑conscious.
- Willingness to learn and take direction while showing initiative.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
On‑site Hackettstown, NJ. While regular travel is not expected for this position, JDC Technical Services operates multiple remote offices. Limited travel may occasionally be required for training or collaboration with remote staff.
