Job Opportunity:
Housing Navigator – Bergen County

Community Services Programs of New Jersey (CSPNJ), a mental health nonprofit agency, seeks one Housing Navigator in Bergen County. The position reports to the Regional Coordinator and is part of the BVH program, helping veterans experiencing homelessness secure stable housing through HUD VASH vouchers or income.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build relationships with landlords and referral agencies to assist veterans with housing search and leasing.
  • Educate veterans on the types of housing vouchers available and the benefits of accepting them.
  • Meet with veterans experiencing housing barriers to advise on housing/rental applications or related services.
  • Establish and maintain communicative partnerships with homeless assistance service agencies for housing navigation purposes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a mental health related discipline or High School Diploma / GED with 2+ years of experience.
  • Knowledge of poverty and homelessness causes, trends, issues, and solutions.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Strong judgment and problem‑solving abilities in emotional or stressful situations.
  • Expertise in strength‑based, solution‑focused practice.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with diverse cultures and ethnicities.
  • Ability to work with individuals experiencing mental illness in a caring and professional manner.
  • Proficient in MS Office products and general computer literacy.
  • Bilingual skills a plus.
  • Valid NJ Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Lived experience with mental health/substance use issues is a priority for hiring.
Employment Details

Full‑time | Benefits:
Medical, free DMO dental & free vision, 6 weeks paid time off, 11 holidays.

Hourly Rate: $28.85.
