Role Overview:
As a District Sales Manager you will guide, train, coach, and motivate 5–10 field‑based Territory Sales Representatives in the Redistribution segment. You will provide sales and business development training, customer‑focused account support, create effective operational plans, and encourage the team to surpass short‑ and long‑term sales goals. Your responsibilities include leading sales strategies, establishing objectives, and monitoring results.

Responsibilities
  • Direct leadership and coaching for 5–10 residence‑based Territory Sales Representatives.
  • Drive continuous daily pursuit of prospective customers and expand sales in existing accounts.
  • Lead team meetings to facilitate discussion and share innovative ideas for growing revenue and margin.
  • Communicate all customer feedback to leadership for product enhancement opportunities.
  • Deliver sales pipelines, forecasts, and pricing.
  • Propose, communicate, and achieve weekly and monthly forecast targets.
  • Develop and train on sales strategies and techniques necessary for achieving sales targets.
  • Serve as an agent for change to support a smooth transition to a segmented organizational structure.
  • Leverage CRM data (MS Dynamics) to evaluate team performance, monitor trends, and identify opportunities.
  • Consistently meet and exceed sales goals.
  • Implement and drive directives as outlined from leadership.
  • Ensure day‑to‑day responsibilities of sales reps (prospecting, account development, site inspections, and account management) meet company standards.
  • Proactively develop a world‑class sales force through recruiting, selecting, and growing exceptional sales talent; coach performance, motivate, and hold employees accountable.
  • Facilitate leadership development within the team and foster future leaders for succession planning.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective customer contacts to grow market share.
  • Drive alignment, define performance measurement, and develop a long‑term development plan with sales representatives.
  • Execute business plans with new and existing accounts.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum 3 years of sales leadership experience with a proven track record in competitive markets; 1 year in a level leadership role.
  • Experience successfully managing challenging sales cycles, yearly plans for a business, and delivering on revenue, margin, and cost targets consistently.
  • Grocery, food service, and distribution experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to execute multiple initiatives autonomously.
  • Excellent communication skills for leadership and customers through interpersonal skills and presentations.
  • Solid knowledge of project management and negotiation tactics.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to articulate ideas, delegate, direct, motivate, and train staff.
  • Rapid acquisition of new skills and grasp of new ideas.
  • Ability to close deals and mentor teams to achieve target goals.
  • Proficient PC skills:
    Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM (Microsoft Dynamics), and quick learning of new applications.
  • Travel required throughout the territory; frequent travel throughout the continental U.S. expected.
Benefits
  • Salary: $100,000–$150,000 annually (base) + bonus & car allowance, based on education, experience, and geography.
