Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook menu items to order, ensuring compliance with HACCP guidelines and quality standards.
  • Determine food requirements, stock ingredients, utensils and equipment, and set up the workstation.
  • Check food temperatures with a thermometer to ensure safe cooking, holding, and serving temperatures.
  • Ensure food meets standards of presentation, taste, quality, temperature, portion control, and safety.
  • Maintain timeliness of menu preparation and presentation per service needs.
  • Clean work area at end of production and store remaining food according to HACCP guidelines.
  • Maintain refrigerators and other storage units—clean, stock for meal service, and use leftovers to reduce waste.
  • Provide relief coverage across food service areas as needed.
  • Adhere to the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.
Qualifications – Required
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 1–3 years of hotel/restaurant cooking experience.
  • Knowledge of good cooking techniques.
  • Team player.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Qualifications – Preferred
  • AAS Culinary Degree.
  • Experience in health‑facility cooking or knowledge of healthcare nutrition.
Licenses & Certifications
  • Food Safety and Sanitation Certification within one year of hire.
Compensation & Benefits

The base hourly rate is $26.71 and may based on market data, experience, education, skills, location, and internal equity. Full‑time positions also include comprehensive health, dental, vision, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits.
