Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Combined Procedural Unit (CPU)
Location: Hackensack, NJ
Schedule: 4 Days/Week - 10 Hour Shifts
Shift: 9:00 AM - 7:30 PM
Hours per Week: 40
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) - Combined Procedural Unit (CPU) is responsible for delivering comprehensive patient care across multiple perioperative settings, including ICU, Pre-Operative, and PACU/Recovery areas. This hybrid nursing role supports physicians and procedural teams by providing skilled nursing assessments, monitoring patient conditions, and ensuring safe and effective patient recovery.
The RN will assess patient needs, implement individualized care plans, perform therapeutic interventions, and document care according to clinical standards. The role requires strong critical care and telemetry experience and the ability to work in fast-paced procedural environments.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Clinical Duties
- Evaluate patients and assist physicians during procedural and recovery care.
- Provide direct patient care in ICU, Pre-Op, and PACU environments.
- Assess patient conditions and determine care priorities using the nursing process.
- Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized patient care plans.
- Monitor patient status before, during, and after procedures.
- Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and provide recovery support.
- Continuously monitor patient vitals, telemetry readings, and clinical conditions.
- Document patient care accurately following hospital standards and clinical protocols.
- Identify changes in patient conditions and respond appropriately.
- Work collaboratively with physicians, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Advocate for evidence-based care practices and patient safety.
- Provide patient-centered care aligned with professional nursing standards.
- Follow hospital policies, safety protocols, and regulatory guidelines.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and best practices in procedural nursing care.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Critical Care, Pre-Op, or PACU/Recovery.
- Strong Telemetry monitoring experience.
- Experience working in acute hospital settings.
- Ability to work in a hybrid procedural environment (ICU, Pre-Op, PACU).
- Strong clinical judgment and patient monitoring skills.
- 3+ years of PACU experience preferred.
- Experience managing post-procedural recovery and critical care monitoring.
Required:
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited nursing program.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- NJ State Registered Nurse License or Multi-State Compact License
- BLS - AHA
- ACLS - AHA
- PALS - AHA
- Telemetry Certification
