Radiology - X-Ray

The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. The role involves positioning patients, providing immobilization devices, and selecting proper technical factors based on individual patient needs.

• Produce diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients and selecting appropriate technical factors.
• Restrict radiation exposure to unaffected parts of the patient using collimating devices.
• Perform portable x-ray examinations in various settings such as patient rooms and operating rooms.
• Identify patient films with the correct name and x-ray number while marking films accurately.
• Develop exposed x-ray films using appropriate processing methods.
• Maintain an orderly x-ray room and assist in administrative duties related to scheduling and patient intake.
• Provide assistance to patients based on their needs in mobility and comfort.
• Adhere to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.

This position requires working 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, every third weekend, on holidays as needed, and being on call.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care facility.
• Must be able to work independently in areas such as the emergency room.
• Applicants must possess a New Jersey State License and meet National Registry requirements.
