Emergency Trauma Center Operations Technician - Full Time - Day

The Emergency & Trauma Center Operations Technician works under the management of the ETC Operations Manager and is responsible for maintaining the operational needs of the department, including customer service, transportation, supplies, equipment, and environmental services.

A day in the life of an Emergency Trauma Center Operations Technician at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

• Adheres to the ETC customer service standards.
• Assists with environmental service duties in the department or assigned area, including облегт recycling/trash receptacles and linen removal from laundry bins to proper disposal area.
• Assists with environmental service duties, including cleaning selectable equipment, cables, stretchers/wheelchairs, and millwork.
• Consistently uses the patient identification band to confirm correct patient identifiers.
• Consistently communicates with clinical team members before transporting a patient.
• Transports patients safely throughout the hospital by using wheelchairs and stretcher transports; utilizing the computerized patient transport system.
• Transports specimens to the laboratory and delivers blood and blood products in a timely manner.
• Transports equipment to assigned treatment or patient‑care areas as needed.
• Ensures equipment is maintained and labeled with biomed tags.
• Maintains adequate par levels in assigned areas within the ETC department.
• Picks up slides for physicians from the laboratory as requested.
• Obtains supplies from central supply as requested.
• Participates in and uses automated systems in a timely and accurate manner to assist with patient throughput.
• Assists with maintaining operations within the assigned area of the ETC (i.e., prompt care, pods A to E, Trauma/Resuscitation, Triage Areas, and Sorter Stations).
• Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies delivery of care to meet those needs (age, culture, language, hearing and/or visual impairments, etc.). This process includes communicating with the patient, parent, or primary caregiver at their level of development or literacy.
• Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center’s Organizational Competencies.
• Adheres to the uniform policy.

• High School diploma or GED (or equivalent program).
• Completion of the internal ETC Operations Technician training program.

Minimum hourly rate: $18.23. Salary may be expressed as an hourly rate or an annual salary. Pay is benchmarked against market data to ensure competitiveness and may vary based on experience, education, skills Interests, geographic location, internal equity, and funding. Eligible positions may receive performance-based incentives, shift differentials, and other bonuses. All full‑time and part‑time positions (20+ hours/week) are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits.
