CLINICAL RESEARCH NURSE - JTCC ONCOLOGY - F/T DAYS
Position: Clinical Research Nurse – JTCC Oncology – Full Time (Days)
Location: Hackensack, New Jersey – Hackensack Meridian Health
OverviewThe Clinical Research Nurse is responsible for coordinating and overseeing clinical research operations for all assigned clinical trials. The role includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating compliant patient care in clinical research trials under the general supervision of the principal investigator.
Responsibilities- Assist the principal investigator in preparing proposed clinical trials by reviewing protocols, coordinating departments, and ensuring notification and documentation.
- Submit protocol revisions, informed consents, continuing reviews, and serious adverse events to the appropriate IRB of record in a timely manner.
- Act as liaison between principal investigators and sub-investigators on regulatory issues and protocol changes.
- Collaborate with the principal investigator, clinical research coordinator, and clinical team to review studies for feasibility and evaluate potential competition with other protocols.
- Review and finalize study budgets with the budget coordinator.
- Recruit and evaluate potential study patients, and schedule required appointments and interviews.
- Communicate with patients, caregivers, and clinical staff regarding study protocols, consent, and treatment.
- Assist investigators with the consent process and obtain written informed consent.
- Document study patient medical history, assessments, and progress in required systems.
- Maintain accurate, complete, up-to-date records for each participant in all applicable systems.
- Coordinate research activities such as scheduling lab tests and imaging.
- Report serious adverse events to sponsors and IRB according to timelines.
- Prepare and assist for sponsor monitor site visits, ensuring documentation is available.
- Develop case report forms and/or databases for physician-initiated studies.
- Assist with publication preparation and data analysis.
- Educate departments and clinical areas where studies are performed.
- Attend research meetings and conferences as required.
- BSN required.
- Minimum of 3 years clinical oncology nursing experience or 1 year oncology nursing plus 2 years clinical research experience.
- Adherence to American Nurses Association standards.
- Strong attention to detail and customer service focus.
- Excellent communication, organizational, presentation, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team, handling multiple deadline-driven tasks.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
- Compliance with all relevant HMH policies, local, state, and federal laws.
Starting at $ annually. HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency. The posted rate is an estimate of the minimum base pay.
