T&M Associates is seeking an experienced Group Manager to lead our Hydraulics and Hydrology team to support our Transportation Market. This leadership role is responsible for managing and overseeing the workload of technical staff while ensuring productivity, quality, and timely project delivery. The Group Manager plays a key role in business planning, project selection, and client development.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, transportation drainage design, floodplain mapping, dam inspection and analysis, and NJDEP permitting, along with demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
Responsibilities- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of technical staff, including training, workload oversight, and quality control.
- Oversee delivery of hydraulic, hydrologic, stormwater, transportation drainage, floodplain mapping, and dam-related projects, ensuring schedules, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Provide technical direction and perform/review modeling and analysis using HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS (1D steady-state including bridge/culvert and floodway modeling), HEC-1, Pond Pack; 2D modeling experience preferred.
- Lead and support NJDEP permitting efforts, including NJAC 7:8, 7:13, and 7:20 (familiarity with 7:7, 7:7A, and 7:50 preferred).
- Serve as a primary client and regulatory agency contact, particularly with the NJDEP.
- Participate in business planning, proposal preparation, and support new client and project development.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver integrated transportation and water resources solutions.
- Act as T&M’s Subject Matter Expert for Hydraulics and Hydrology and NJDEP Flood Hazard Area and Dam Safety Permitting.
- BA/BS in Civil Engineering or related field required.
- 10+ years of experience in hydraulic/hydrologic modeling, stormwater management design, transportation drainage, floodplain analysis, and dam inspection/analysis.
- New Jersey Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- Strong working knowledge of NJDEP regulations and permitting processes, including NJDEP’s new PACT / REAL rules.
- Proficiency in HEC software, Hydro Cad, Pond Pack, Micro Station and/or AutoCAD, GIS/Arc Map, and Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, analytical, and technical writing skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and teams.
T&M Associates is committed to pay transparency and equitable compensation practices in compliance with applicable laws, including the New Jersey Equal Pay Act. T&M estimates that the salary range for this position will fall between $145,000 - $175,000. The actual salary offered may vary within this range, depending on a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, educational qualifications, specific skills and knowledge, as well as internal pay equity and geographic location.
