Asphalt Paving Crew – Lute / Rake Man.
Location:
Hackensack, New Jersey.
Industry: Construction / Road paving.
Role:
Asphalt laborer (lute/rake operator).
- Spreading and leveling hot asphalt behind the paving machine.
- Smoothing and adjusting the surface before compaction.
- Matching asphalt joints and maintaining proper grade.
- Assisting the crew with shoveling, site prep, and cleanup.
- Working closely with paver operators and rollers to produce a smooth finish.
Workers use hand tools like rakes, lutes, shovels, and compactors to distribute asphalt evenly and remove surface irregularities.
