The Account Manager serves as the primary point of contact between Genpro and its customers, ensuring that all shipping and transportation needs are met efficiently and cost‑effectively. This role is responsible for managing the full cycle of customer business development — from maintaining existing relationships to identifying new opportunities for growth.
The Account Manager partners closely with the Carrier Sourcing and Operations teams to optimize capacity utilization, drive profitability, and deliver superior customer service. This position requires strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills to balance customer satisfaction with Genpro’s financial goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Customer Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain strong, long‑term relationships with key account decision‑makers.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, ensuring prompt, professional communication.
- Provide exceptional customer service to maintain satisfaction and drive business growth.
- Meet or exceed annual sales and profitability targets through spot and long‑term business opportunities.
- Negotiate rates and service agreements in alignment with Genpro’s pricing strategy.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for business expansion within assigned accounts.
- Target new opportunities to expand your portfolio.
- Collaborate with Carrier Sourcing and Operations teams to ensure capacity availability and service quality.
- Analyze customer demand, volume trends, and capacity needs to optimize efficiency and profitability.
- Support the resolution of shipment issues, claims, and service disruptions promptly and effectively.
- Work with customers to improve shipment forecasting accuracy and volume planning.
- Utilize transportation management systems to track, trace, and update order status.
- Coordinate and prepare materials for customer meetings and strategic planning sessions.
- 4+ years of sales or account management experience in a 3PL, freight brokerage, or transportation environment.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong knowledge of freight transportation
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Close attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a dynamic setting.
- Proficient with CRM software, TMS platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Self‑motivated, goal‑oriented, and driven by results.
