Role Purpose
The Assistant Merchandiser supports the merchandising team in day-to-day execution of export orders, ensuring timely coordination between buyers, sampling, production, sourcing, and quality teams.
This role is execution-heavy and ideal for someone who wants to grow into an Account Merchandiser role.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sampling & Development Support
Coordinate sampling activities (proto, fit, size set, PP samples)
Follow up with sampling team for timely sample development
Maintain sample trackers and status updates
Ensure buyer comments are shared and implemented correctly

2. Order Execution Support
Assist in managing orders from confirmation to shipment
Update and track Time & Action (T&A) calendars
Follow up with:
Production
Sourcing
Quality
Planning teams
Ensure internal timelines are followed strictly

3. Buyer Communication Support
Support Account Merchandiser in buyer communication
Prepare and share updates, sample dispatch details, and approvals
Maintain professional email communication

4. Documentation & Data Management
Prepare and maintain:
Order sheets
Sample details
Fabric & trim approval records
Buyer PO documentation
Ensure all records are accurate and updated

5. Internal Coordination
Act as a coordination point between merchandising and internal teams
Ensure buyer requirements are clearly communicated internally
Escalate delays, mismatches, or issues to the Account Merchandiser in time

6. Quality & Shipment Assistance
Assist in pre-production preparation and approvals
Support QA coordination and shipment timelines
Help ensure orders are shipped as per buyer requirements

Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience
1–3 years experience in garment exports (Assistant Merchandiser / Merchandising Executive)
Freshers with strong internships in export houses may be considered

Skills
Strong follow-up and coordination skills
Basic understanding of garment construction and production flow
Good written and verbal communication
Organised, detail-oriented, and eager to learn
Ability to work under timelines and pressure
Education
Bachelor's degree in:
Fashion / Apparel / Textile / Commerce / Management (preferred)
Practical exposure to garment exports is more important than degree
