The Training Manager will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing capability-building programs for Corporate Fashion Buyers and leadership teams at Vishal Mega Mart. The role focuses on strengthening commercial buying skills, fashion acumen, vendor management, data-driven decision-making, and leadership effectiveness to support business growth and profitability
Fashion Buying Capability Development
Design and deliver structured training programs for fashion buyers
Merchandise planning & assortment strategy
Trend forecasting & fashion analytics
Costing, margin optimization & negotiations
Vendor sourcing & relationship management
Private label development & lifecycle management
Align training modules with Vishal Mega Mart's value fashion & mass retail strategy
Work closely with Buying, Merchandising, Design, and Planning teams to identify skill gaps
Leadership & Managerial Development
Develop leadership programs for Category Heads, Senior Buyers, and Corporate Leaders
Strategic thinking & business acumen
People leadership & team management
Decision-making using retail KPIs
Stakeholder management & cross-functional collaboration
Support succession planning and leadership pipeline initiatives.
Training Design & Delivery
Create blended learning solutions (classroom, virtual, on-the-job, case studies, simulations)
Customize content using real business data, buying cases, and category performance insights .
Engage external trainers, institutes, and fashion/retail experts when required
Training Governance & Effectiveness
Define training calendars, budgets, and learning roadmaps for buying & leadership roles
Measure training impact through pre- and post-training assessments, performance metrics, and ROI analysis
Maintain training MIS, reports, and dashboards for senior management review
Stakeholder Management
Partner with Business Heads, HRBPs, and Category Leadership to ensure learning relevance
Act as a trusted advisor to business on capability enhancement and talent development
Education & Experience:
MBA / Post-Graduate in HR, Retail Management, Fashion Management, or related field
8–12 years of experience , with minimum 4–6 years in L&D / Training roles
Strong exposure to fashion retail, buying, or merchandising teams
Experience in large retail or value fashion organizations preferred
