Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Merchandiser - Product Development (Home Category) located in Gurugram. The role involves sourcing, vendor development, negotiation and management that leads to product development for the home category. This role involves being part of the whole lifecycle of the product from collaborating with design team, and communicating with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials at the stores and warehouse.
The Senior Merchandiser will also be part of business development (for Home Category) , role diversifies to contribute to design ideation, coordinate sampling, and deliver high-quality products aligned with the brand's vision. Building strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, is essential to the role.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Fashion/Textile/Product Design, Merchandising , or a related field
5–10 years of experience in home product development & merchandising (soft furnishings, décor, bedding, kitchen & tableware, etc.)
Strong experience in end-to-end product lifecycle management – design collaboration, sampling, costing, production & delivery
Proven expertise in vendor sourcing, development, negotiation, and management
Solid understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, quality standards, and compliance for home products
Hands-on experience in sampling coordination, approvals, and bulk execution
Ability to contribute to design ideation, trend research, and category development
Strong commercial acumen , costing & margin understanding
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional coordination skills
Proficient in MS Excel and PLM/ERP systems
