Features Writer

JOB PURPOSE / ROLE SUMMARY
We are looking for a passionate and creative Content Writer / Features Writer to join our editorial team.
The ideal candidate should be skilled in storytelling, reporting, and content ideation, with a keen eye for trends, detail, and quality. Proactive communication skills would be appreciated.
This role involves producing engaging features, conducting ground reporting, and contributing to data collection and content planning while upholding the brand's tone and standards. A background in print media will be preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS (KRAS)

Content Development:  Write high-quality, well-researched articles and long-form features that align with the brand's voice and editorial goals
Reporting & Ground Work :
Conduct in-depth interviews and attend events or activations to gather original content and build a relevant network
Data Collection & Content Planning:  Collect and maintain database; analyse insights to support future editorial planning and story ideation
Story Ownership & Follow-ups :
Ensure timely follow-ups with stakeholders and manage stories from concept to closure with minimal supervision
Idea Generation & Editorial Calendar Adherence:  Regularly pitch fresh, relevant story ideas and ensure timely delivery
Collaboration & Quality Assurance :
Coordinate with editors to maintain content quality and consistency.

Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling abilities
Strong research and interviewing skills
Deadline-oriented with attention to detail
Good understanding of editorial workflows
Familiarity with print (newspaper/magazine) style of work and writing
Open to attending events, shoots, or brand activations as required

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English, or a related field

WORK EXPERIENCE
At least 2-3 years of writing/reporting experience in lifestyle, culture, fashion, business, or related domains
Portfolio of published work required (links or samples to be submitted)
